Oil
- 1 tbsp olive or any vegetable oil
Drain the oil or water from canned Sardines. Transfer it to the bowl.
1 canned sardines (Sardines in oil or water)
Add spices and seasoning (onion powder, garlic powder, red chili Kashmiri powder, cilantro, salt, and pepper to taste.)
1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp kashmiri red chili powder, salt and pepper to taste
Add the flour and egg to the bowl. Next, combine everything well
1 egg, 2 tbsp plain flour
Use your hands to make small flat patties
Add oil to the pan. Once the oil is hot, add the sardines one at a time and fry them on one side for 2-3 minutes, flip them, and cook for two more minutes.
1 tbsp olive or any vegetable oil
Once the patties are cooked, place them on a kitchen towel to absorb excess oil. Serve the patties warm. Enjoy!
- You can add red or green chilies to the patties mixture to add spice.
- If the patties become runny, you can add 1/2 teaspoon of flour to the mixture.
- Substitute paprika powder for Kashmiri powder.
- If you prefer a healthier cooking method, you can grill or air-fry the patties instead of frying them in oil.
- You can use whole wheat flour or breadcrumbs instead of regular flour.
