Peanut Sadeko
Peanut salad is a popular snack in Nepal. It’s called “Badam Sadeko” in Nepali. It is perfect for any occasion and ideal for parties.
Made of roasted peanuts with some spices, it tastes great on its own or with any drink of your choice. It is easy to make, tastes delicious, and is one of my favorite appetizers.
So, if you are looking for a simple, easy, and tasty snack, then you must try this recipe. Here is an easy Nepali peanut sadeko or badam sadeko recipe.
Ingredients

Peanuts: Unsalted roasted peanuts. You can easily buy it from the grocery store.
Vegetables: Chopped red onion, tomato, cilantro, green chili and minced garlic.
Oil: Mustard oil or any vegetable oil of your choice.
Spices: Turmeric powder, red kashmiri chili powder, sichuan pepper ( optional)
Seasoning: Lemon juice and salt to taste.

- 1 cup unsalted roasted peanuts
Vegetables
- ¼ cup chopped tomatoes
- ⅓ cup chopped onion
- 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 2 chopped green chili
Oil
- 1½ tsp oil – mustard or any cooking oil
Spices
- ½ tsp red kashmiri chili powder
- ¼ tsp ground turmeric
- ½ tsp sichuan pepper (timmur)
Seasoning
- ½ tsp salt to taste
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
Instructions
- Add roasted peanuts, chopped onion, tomatoes, cilantro, green chili, garlic and spices to a bowl.1 cup unsalted roasted peanuts, ¼ cup chopped tomatoes, ⅓ cup chopped onion, 1 tbsp chopped cilantro, 1 tsp minced garlic, 2 chopped green chili, ½ tsp red kashmiri chili powder, ¼ tsp ground turmeric, ½ tsp sichuan pepper (timmur)
- Heat oil to the pan on a medium high heat for few seconds.1½ tsp oil – mustard or any cooking oil
- Once hot, pour oil to the bowl. Combine all ingredients well. Season with salt and lemon. Mix well.½ tsp salt to taste, 1 tsp Lemon juice
- Spicy peanut salad is ready! You can serve it as an appetizer or as a side dish.
